About Us
VoiceVault is software that uses an individual’s vocal characteristics for biometric identity verification over the phone, web, or via mobile and smartphone applications.
Our technology is predicated on the simple fact that speaking is completely natural and effortless and that no two voices are exactly the same.
It’s not about what you’re saying, but about who’s saying it.
We’re based in Reading in the UK, with a sales, marketing and support office Los Angeles in the US. VoiceVault was founded over ten years ago and is owned by an investor group that includes Eden Ventures, Kevin Lomax, The Cotterford Company and the Chimu Partnership.
Biometric voice-based identify verification enables a business process to dispense with knowledge-based authentication (something you know – like a PIN or memorable personal information such as dates or places) or device-based authentication (something you have – a one-time password token device for example) and replace them with something you are – the sound of your voice.
The writing of the algorithms on which VoiceVault is based began in 1996 and since then over 160 man years of effort have gone into their development. Although its primary purpose today is to deliver voice verification within a commercial environment, the core technology was developed in close collaboration with government and military agencies. This led to VoiceVault being successfully tested in various military environments, including the combat center of the aircraft carrier USS George Washington and an F-15 jet fighter.
