Mobile Voice Biometric Challenge
![]()
The 2011 Opus Research / VoiceVault smartphone developer challenge was open to anyone wanting to show innovation and creativity in using voice biometrics on a smartphone or tablet platform.
VoiceVault joined forces with Opus Research to bring you the challenge for which a prize of $1000 was be awarded at the Opus Research Voice Biometrics Conference in Amsterdam on March 24th 2011.
We were looking for the application or service that uses the mobile device to make the best and most original use of voice biometrics (or vice versa). We wanted to see device characteristics being used to their best advantage – especially in what they bring to multifactor authentication. We wanted to see innovation, creativity and business acumen – where the use of voice biometrics in an application enhances it or the user experience associated with it.
The Winner!
After much deliberation, the prize was awarded to BioProximity from Helex Solutions (part of the BrightCloud Group). The judges were impressed with this Android app that demonstrated how a closed group of users could collaborate in real time while benefitting from voice biometric user identity authentication, and innovative geo-location services.
As the Challenge was so successful, both in terms of interest and quality of the entries, we will be setting and running more challenges! More details soon!
