new executive hire

- Biometric Security, a specialist and leader in voice-based biometric identity
verification, today announces the appointment of Julia Webb as Executive Vice
President of Sales and Marketing in the US and the opening of a new office in
Boston.
According to Frost & Sullivan, the United States biometrics market is
projected to generate US$1.4 billion in 2008, driven in part by tighter
regulations within the US financial servics industry governing the security of
call centres and IVR systems.
As Biometric Security is already established in the US with major customers like
Progressive Insurance and various federal agencies, Julia's appointment and the
opening of its new office is a key indicator of its continuing international
growth.
Julia will be responsible for growing Biometric Security's business in the US in
the key finance, retail and public sectors. Julia brings over ten year's
experience in biometric technology to the role having held senior marketing
positions at leading biometric companies ranging from Identix to Bioscrypt.
At Bioscrypt she grew distribution channels for two distinct product lines
resulting in revenue growth from $4 million in 2000 to $16.5 million in 2005
and was pivotal in helping Bioscrypt be selected by the American Express and
Boston's Logan Airport as the approved biometric offering.
