Speaking is a natural and effortless process; a person's voice is unique to them; and as a result, no two voices are the same. These are the premises upon which the VoiceVault biometric processes are based.
Voice verification is a biometric process of confirming an individual's identity using their unique vocal physiology. This is achieved through the comparison of a previously stored digital representation of an individual's voice, (a "voiceprint") with one subsequently created at the time of verification.
VoiceVault is at the heart of our voice verification services. It is the name given to the underlying technology that allows a voice verification to be performed regardless of the location of the person or whether the routing configuration is phone, network or Internet VoIP-based.
VoiceVault is a high-availability suite of components on which the verification engine runs. Consisting of multiple redundant systems, the overall architecture resides across different parts of the globe, with each individual system being itself fully redundant. All but one system can suffer total failure without penalty to users. Physically, the VoiceVault contains state of the art fibre channel technology and can thus concurrently support hundreds of millions of voiceprints.
The VoiceVault Caller Authentication service provides application developers with a hosted biometric voice verification service that accurately verifies a caller's identity over the phone using their voice.
Voice verification processing is similar for all users irrespective of the ultimate purpose of the verification: VoiceVault will make a decision in less than a second and return it along with a score to the client application. Typically, the client application will then decide if more prompting is required. In our experience this process is generally dynamic.
By employing VoiceVault Caller Authentication not only do you gain by substantially eliminating the risk of identity theft and fraud, but, Caller Authentication can also improve caller experience and tackles the costs and problems associated with lost or forgotten passwords or PINs. Furthermore, it can be used as a key differentiator in marketing materials.
